Pottery Workshop - Gnomes! (Pt. 1)

Local artist Caitlin Gates creates beautiful, whimsical, nature-focused art and this month we’re teaming up with her to host a pottery workshop in the tasting room.

In this class you will construct a decorative gnome using handbuilding techniques. Caitlin will teach us all about pinch pots, scoring and slipping, and the fundamentals of glazing. This is a two-part workshop. In the first class we will construct our gnomes. The pieces will then be dried and bisque fired by Caitlin, and we will glaze them in the second class. Pieces will be fired again and ready for pick up from the tasting room on December 5th. Pre-registration required. All materials provided. Class limit 10 students.

Winter Winemaker Dinner

Join us in the winery next month for the Winter Winemaker Dinner featuring a delicious meal from our friends at Crooked Ladle paired with our wines. We’ve been working on ideas for a winemaker dinner with Jenny and Lou since we first tasted their food last summer at Friday Night Music. We love their creativity in the kitchen, incorporating flavors and textures from many culinary traditions with a deep respect for the ingredients.

We will guide you through four beautiful courses, highlighting the pairings and spotlighting a couple new wines, as well as the unreleased, very limited Petite Pearl. The evening wouldn’t be complete without a barrel tasting, an early look at the 2025s, and lots of conversation.

These dinners are a great opportunity to learn more about our vineyard and to hear from us as we share the story of each wine from vine to glass.

TICKETS HERE

Tickets are $120 per person. Wine Club members get first access to tickets starting November 6. Remaining tickets will be available to the public starting November 17. Please reach out with any questions or concerns!

Heuriger

Heuriger

  • Lincoln Peak Vineyard (map)

We lived in Austria for six months in 2019, working vintage at a couple wineries about 60 miles up the Danube from Vienna. A lot of the philosophies and techniques that we practice at Lincoln Peak were learned during our time in Austria, and we left inspired by how this long history of growing grapes and making wine has affected the entire culture of the region.

For the month of October we will be celebrating an Austrian wine tradition known as Heuriger. Throughout the year, but especially in the fall, each winery in the village takes a turn opening their doors for a month at a time, offering the wines from their vineyard paired with local specialties like cured meats, cheeses, and fresh veggies.

Heurigen have been an integral part of Austrian wine culture since the 18th century when Emperor Josef II passed a law allowing wineries to sell their own products, instead of just the noblemen. To indicate that their Heuriger is open, each winery hangs a decorated bundle of fir branches over their entrance. Just like the wines, every family’s Heuriger is a little different, but they all offer a cozy, humble atmosphere and the whole village seems to come out to drink the new wines, eat some hearty food, and chop it up with their neighbors.

We hope you’ll join us this month for Austrian-inspired charcuterie boards and mugs of sturm, the freshly fermenting wines of the 2025 vintage!

Visitors can get a glimpse at new paintings and works in progress in an open-air studio, explore a vineyard path with artwork placed among the vines, and take part in natural pigment demonstrations.

Mira’s beautiful artwork adorns the labels of our three new ciders, and we thought this the perfect weekend to release them! Enjoy the new ciders while exploring the vineyard, and join us for a toast and discussion at 2pm on Saturday!

Piquette Release!

Piquette Release!

Naturally carbonated and weighing in at just 6% abv, these impossibly refreshing and super stashable bottles are the ideal companion for an afternoon at the river or a celebratory swig at the end of a hike. Join us at Friday Night Music to taste these beauties and take home a six-pack fo the weekend!

What is piquette?
Also called acqua pazza in Italy or lora in ancient Rome, piquette is the French term for a low-alcohol wine made by rehydrating pressed grape skins with water. After squeezing all the juice out of the grapes, the dry pomace that’s left behind still has lots of sugar and flavor. To make piquette, this pomace is collected and soaked in water, then refermented, extracting every last bit of potential from the grapes. The result is a light-bodied, low-alcohol wine traditionally consumed by vineyard workers on their lunch break (it still is, by the way…). With a history as old as wine itself, think of it like the OG spritzer or a White Claw that’s actually interesting.
