The weather as been perfect for flowering and pollination. Grapes are wind pollinated (it’s wind that moves the pollen from blossom to blossom), and all the grapes we’ll harvest this fall are setting right now.
Chris said to me last night– with a big knock on wood– that the crop looks as good right now as it’s ever looked at this stage. In other words, we’re feeling optimistic. As farmers, that seems like a dangerous emotion, but the sun is shining and we’re enjoying it.
