Harvest: Black Sparrow
On our first day of harvest this year, we picked three grapes that make up our Black Sparrow wine: Louise Swenson, Prairie Star, and Adalmiina. They are field blended, meaning we pick and ferment them together. Our total for the day was 6,757 pounds.
For those of you mourning the now-sold-out Black Sparrow ’13, you’ll be glad to know that we have more of these grapes than we did last year, so we hope to make more Black Sparrow ’14. It will be released in May of next year.
