Harvest Party 2014
With a great turnout of grape-pickers, wine-drinkers, grape-stompers, music-listeners, and food-enjoyers, our Harvest Party was so fun many kids (and quite a few adults) didn’t want to go home. The folks who helped us pick grapes harvested more than a ton of La Crescent– 2,851 pounds! This brings our running total for the season to 27,557 pounds, for those of you keeping track of the Grape-O-Meter.
Our grape stomp is our annual vineyard pedicure, and a heck of a lot of fun too. Under foot, grapes pop and squish. The seeds mush around and the stems tickle your toes. You can see it on the faces of the folks below– grape stomping is worth the mess. [By the way, the grapes from this stomp ended up in the compost pile.]
