The Bounty is IN!
We picked the Frontenac family of grape varieties (Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, and Frontenac Blanc) in our final two days of harvest.
About half an hour after the last grape was picked on Sept 29, the autumn rains began. Chris poured Limestone and the whole crew stood on the crush pad with wine and smiles. All harvest, we’d enjoyed the nicest picking days I can remember– beautiful sun, gentle breeze, and barely a drop of precipitation. To finish so well (and so dry) was quite a treat.
With 13,956 pounds of the Frontenac family, our final total for the year is 71,565 pounds. >> Check out the Grape-o-Meter winner!
Winemaker Chris said these were the highest quality grapes he’s ever brought into the winery. The growing season was stellar and our crew under Roxanne’s leadership gave the vines the highest care and attention. Many thanks to mother nature and a hardworking team. Cheers!
